Upfront confession: I've never much cared for this show's front game, a mix of blackjack and mostly easy trivia. But sooner or later the show gets around to the pure-luck bonus round, which is actually kind of fun. GSN picked a $25,000 winner for the premiere episode, which makes sense if you're trying to establish a new show in early evening.
Alfonso's clothes have definitely undergone an upgrade, as GSN seems intent on fashion-plating all their hosts. New dealer Witney Carson does a dance step or three with Alfonso, just to remind everybody of their winning turn on Dancing With the Stars. She also provides eye candy and sympathy for the contestants as she unveils the cards.
The set is heavy on purple, which looks to be GSN's favorite color lately. The bottom line is simple: if you liked the old show, you'll like the new one.
