Get yer reboots

With Press Your Luck and Card Sharks both putting out contestant calls, game show reboots are suddenly a thing.

Well, they've always been a thing. Our little genre reboots compulsively, which almost sounds like a psychological disorder. After all, the greatest game show ever, Match Game's 1973-82 version, was a reboot of the stiff 1960s show. Cinema Blend has a list of seven formats they would like to see in rewinds.

Legends of the Hidden Temple is their top pick, and it's hard to understand how this show hasn't been rebooted. It's on just about every list of top kid game shows, and Nick even tried a so-so TV movie. Just get Kirk Fogg and some more young'uns and make forty more eps.

Several other shows on the list have already been rebooted, with mixed results: 1 vs. 100, Newlywed Game, Truth or Consequences and Figure It Out. If GSN could get Bob Saget for a rewind, 1 vs. 100 might do some real business on the network. Saget seems to fit the pattern of recently successful GSN hosts. He's a friendly older guy who's quick with a quip. The other formats? I dunno.
