A country music site (honest) called Wide Open Country has posted a puffy bio of former Family Feud host Richard Karn. The article sings the praises of Karn's marriage, which has lasted quite a while by Hollywood standards.
While it's nice that Richard Karn has enjoyed a pleasant domestic life, there's always been a spirited argument on the game show Interwebs about his four-year stint on Feud.
I'm inclined to give him a decent grade, if only because of his unfailing friendliness with the contestants. Karn wasn't the quickest with a quip, though he could get off a good line now and then. But he smiled all the time and seemed to be enjoying everybody and everything, so I didn't mind his less than stellar ad-lib abilities.
Nowadays evaluations of Family Feud hosts may get knocked a little off-kilter by the current incumbent. Steve Harvey arouses such sharp opinions pro and con, that a milder, kinder host like Karn may look either bland or pleasant, depending on your point of view. I'll call him pleasant and let him pass.
