The Ford Ranger Raptor has been a huge success for the automaker and it appears that even more markets will be able to enjoy it in the pickup’s second-generation.
There has been talk for quite some time about the next-gen Ranger Raptor being offered in the United States and, based on a new report, it seems this will be the case. As if that wasn’t enough to get you excited, there’s a very good chance it will be driven by a powerful EcoBoost petrol V6.
CarExpert claims to have received a screenshot showing a Raptor test mule’s build sheet from a confidential source.

This screenshot shows a Ranger Raptor outfitted with Ford’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 that is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine, known as the ‘Nano’, will reportedly deliver an impressive 325 hp and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque coupled to an all-wheel drive system with a selectable low-range mode.
The current Ranger Raptor is sold exclusively with a 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel with 210 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque and it is understood this engine will be carried through to the latest-generation model in certain markets, such as Australia. A 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 diesel with 255 hp and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque is also to be expected and will be mated to a 10-speed automatic with permanent all-wheel drive. This engine will be offered in the Aussie and Asian markets but probably not in the United States.
Beyond the new engines, the 2022 Ford Ranger Raptor will be equipped with a host of other impressive parts, including Fox suspension, a stronger frame, skid plates, and beefed-up wheels and tires.
