Dollyfeud

Sahiwal.tv, an obscure site apparently from India, mostly seems to reprint stuff about bitcoin and other cryptos. But for some reason, it has posted a gushing puff piece about Dolly Parton.

Does Dolly own a lot of bitcoin? I dunno, but Sahiwal.tv assures us that she's a "nationwide treasure" and deserves immediate sainthood. (Okay, I made up the sainthood bit.) The linked story rehashes an old rumor that Fremantle offered Dolly the host gig on Family Feud in 1998.

We all know who really got the job (see screenshot). The site does condescend to mention Louie's name, but they pass over Richard Karn and John O'Hurley as "a couple of short-lived [and nameless] hosts." Those guys both did four-year stints on the show, which are hardly short-lived jobs by TV standards. But what the hey, when you're puffing a celeb, who cares about accuracy?

Would Dolly have done a decent job as Feud host? We'll never know, but nobody's ever swooned over her ad-lib abilities. She's probably better off singing country songs. By the way, Sahiwal.tv must use machine translation because its English syntax is hilariously mangled.
