One of the more annoying things about the game show Interwebs is the dumping on supposedly stupid contestants. Of course, few if any of the dumpers ever risk their own smarts on a real game show under the lights and the pressure.
So I was happy to see that Golden Road has a thread for "The Best Playings of Pricing Games." One of the contestants singled out for praise is Stephanie Montato, who managed to win a BRAND NEW TRUCK with a perfect game of Lucky Seven.
Of course, a fair bit of, well, luck went into the lucky game, unless Stephanie had memorized the manufacturer's suggested retail price for every car and truck model in the U.S. But she still nailed the price without losing a single one of her seven dollars. You can watch the memorable game on YouTube.
The Price is Right doesn't often lend itself to brilliant gameplay, as opposed to quizzers like Jeopardy. But when a TPiR contestant gets everything right, it's a pleasant sight. I'm happy to see Internet posters remember some of the best efforts.
