Back came an entry for an unsold 1987 pilot called Money in the Blank. This was a Bob Stewart effort to find another successful word game besides you-know-what. (That you-know-what would be Pyramid, of course.) The pilot survives on YouTube, though video quality is not the best.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for word games, but the pilot was far from an embarrassment. Game Show Pilot Light dumps on the bonus round, with some justification. But the front game was pleasant enough, as celeb/civvie teams tried to, well, fill in the blanks.
The celebs on the pilot were Theresa Ganzel and Nathan Cook. I'm dating myself badly, but I mostly remember Theresa as the successor to Carol Wayne on Johnny Carson's ancient Art Fern skits. Nathan Cook was a staple on various '80s game shows before his sadly early death from an allergic reaction to penicillin at age 38.
