Readers of this blog know that I've always been reluctant to criticize contestants on game shows for supposed stupidity. The lights and the pressure can get to anybody, and they would probably get to me. I have to admit that these Get a Clue contestants don't cover themselves with glory, but not everybody can be Ken Jennings on Jeopardy.
In general, the Interwebs have been awfully rough on Get a Clue. I don't know why the show gets drubbed so severely. It's an entertaining chain version of Pyramid. Maybe it's Rob Belushi's emphatic manner as the host. But at least he's quick with a quip and looks like he's enjoying himself.
Nielsen, literally the only critic who counts, has been kinder to Get a Clue. The show's first season peaked with 461K viewers, which is far from a train wreck by GSN's afternoon standards. Meanwhile, the network has tapped Rob Belushi to host (at home) the reboot of Daily Draw.
