Running through paradise

Another locked down Sunday sent me to the random page button on U.S. Game Shows Wiki.

This time the randomness produced an entry on Paradise Run. This was a pretty entertaining kid stunt show on Nick that lasted for three seasons and seventy episodes. Young'uns careened around an obstacle course at Hilton Waikoloa Village in Hawaii. They also had to solve riddles along the way to get back to the hotel suite where their parents and host Daniella Monet were waiting. First team to the suite won a four-day vacation at the resort.

While the show didn't make anybody forget Legends of the Hidden Temple, it offered harmless fun as the kids got to enjoy stunts in a, yes, paradisiacal setting. Daniella was a competent enough host, even if she was a little on the gushy side. But some gushiness is forgivable on a kid show.

I vaguely remember that the ratings started out strongly and then faded as the show went along. Even paradise gets old after a while. But the kids seemed to have a good time on Paradise Run, which helped make the show a passable way to spend a half-hour.
