Ratings: a nice debut week for Master Minds

I'll get around to posting the syndie ratings when they emerge. As I pointed out a while ago, Wheel of Fortune suffered a bunch of preemptions on ABC stations during the week of March 30-April 5, so I'm afraid the show's numbers took a major hit. We'll see the severity of the damage when TV News Check posts the ratings.

Meanwhile, the numbers are in for the first week of GSN's Master Minds, the rejiggered version of Best Ever Trivia Show. I've praised the new version for speeding up the gameplay and squeezing a lot more actual trivia into the half-hour. Looks like I'm not the only one who appreciates the changes.

Master Minds consistently pulled more than a half-million viewers during its first week, peaking with an audience of 651K viewers for the Friday episode. The show also got some nice demo numbers by GSN standards. Sure, Master Minds benefited from all the lockdowns, but these are still great afternoon totals for our little game show network. They would be good prime time numbers for GSN.
