More from Roger

Mentioned Game Show Forum in my silly April Fools post, so I decided to drop by the oldies board to end all oldies boards. Hadn't been there for a while, so I wanted to see what the Buzzr fans were up to. Amid the usual obsessive tracking of our little diginet's schedule, there was an offbeat thread about Roger Dobkowitz's latest pronouncement on The Price is Right.

For those who don't know or don't care, the Dob was the TPiR showrunner for much of Bob Barker's reign. Dobkowitz hated Drew Carey and soon got the heave-ho after Carey took over the show. Roger has been bitterly predicting doom and gloom for The Price is Right ever since.

Of course, doom and gloom have never seemed further away for TPiR, with the latest upbeat ratings news. But that doesn't stop Roger. He now says that the virus will finish off the show for a long, long time. In fact, the virus is helping the show by providing a shut-in captive audience.

To give Game Show Forum credit, a few posters make similar points about Roger's sour forecast. But there is one odd (even by GSF standards) comment...

I know i'm going to get a lot of flack for this answer, but......The average, common viewer does not notice the minutia that we, the above-average, uncommon, abnormal game show fan observes. They can rerun the entire season and most if not all won't notice a thing.

"Above average." Um, okay. The comment could also use a little work on capitalization and singular/plural grammar: "we...the fan."
