GSN buys Buzzr from Fremantle

In stunning news, Sony's Game Show Network has acquired oldies diginet Buzzr from Fremantle.

GSN reportedly paid $4.95 plus their 11-foot bobblehead of Chuck Woolery to complete the purchase. Mark Deetjen, general manager of Buzzr, commented: "Fremantle just had to have the Chucklehead. So they sold us to GSN. What am I supposed to do?"

GSN president Mark Feldman expressed surprise that the acquisition went so smoothly. "We figured that Fremantle would also want the Inquizitor's grey wig from Inquizition, but they just settled for the Chuck bobblehead and five bucks. Maybe they figured it was good riddance to all those Match Game reruns on Buzzr."

GSN will allow Buzzr to continue to operate independently, as long as the diginet doesn't try to poach Steve Harvey's Family Feud. Deetjen said that was no problem. "Every one of our thirteen viewers hates Steve Harvey's guts. GSN can keep his lousy show. We've got Bzzz, after all."

GSN is thinking about other acquisitions, said Feldman. "We want to buy Game Show Forum. Those guys get on my nerves sometimes with nasty comments about America Says."
