After releasing three critically acclaimed EPs, Dziwak took some time off stage to focus on intensive moments of reflection and sound experimenting. During these times, the thin line between reality and a seemingly over-romanticised imagination was explored to the fullest, resulting in his aptly named debut album Hyperromance - “a moment or idea so heavily romanticised that it seems impossible to be really experienced”.
The melancholic feeling this realisation sparked in his heart took him on a journey through Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, a month-long stay in Amsterdam and finally to settling for six months in Portugal, where he encountered love. Throughout this time, the producer made field recordings and began writing simple piano pieces that would feed into the finished album.
Hyperromance will be self-released on 12" and digitally on April 3rd, featuring nine carefully crafted compositions, each one placed uniquely within Avondlicht’s sonic universe, yet all interconnected on multiple levels. A first single, “Porta”, was released last year in October.
A second excerpt from his album, " When You Come Close", is presented here first hand; a warm, slow and dreamy approach to breaks-influenced dance music, drawing inspiration from the breathtakingly intense moment right before a genuine first kiss.
