This time I got an article that bore a nifty name, "Klunk." For those who don't remember, a klunk was a booby prize on Chuck Barris' versions of Treasure Hunt. The article helpfully explains: Similar to the Zonk on Let's Make a Deal, and the Chasco on Trato Hecho, these were worthless and ridiculous joke prizes that were often used for comedic value.
In other words, the klunks were right up the Barris alley of sardonic humor. Chuckie Baby got the idea from the gag prizes on the original 1950s Treasure Hunt, but the "klunk" moniker was pure Barris. (Though Wikipedia says that host Geoff Edwards actually invented the term.)
Somehow I think that Chuckie would be proud that his klunks got their very own article on a game show wiki. Though you might have had to explain to the late schlockmeister exactly what a wiki was.
