Amazon has picked GSN's Common Knowledge as one of Alexa's top ten "Skills of the Year" for 2019. There's even a gold seal of approval (see screenshot). Amazon's list includes a couple other game shows. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader and Wait Wait Don't Tell Me make the cut. Amazon must like quizzers with a little playfulness. The GSN show ranks third out of the ten apps, in case you're wondering.
Common Knowledge does offer good playalong value, because the questions are often guessable with some, er, common sense. More erudite subject matter is usually left to Jeopardy. So I can see why Alexa users would like the game.
I was lukewarm on Common Knowledge when it debuted, but the show has grown on me a little. The sometimes goofy questions can be charming in a fluky way. Isn't that right, Alexa?
