Stunts and marathons

The holidays arrive, and with them come the usual marathons and stunts on our little game show networks.

For Thanksgiving weekend GSN is running long skeins of the four shows which have become the cabler's tentpoles: America Says, Family Feud, Common Knowledge and Catch 21. In case you somehow miss any of the shows, there are a big bunch of promos on the network for the marathons.

Buzzr did its bit for parent Fremantle with a Thanksgiving Day string of Great Christmas Light Fight. There might be a tiny bit of promo value for the upcoming seventh season of the reality show. Buzzr is also dropping a Black Friday shopping stunt with a prime time of Supermarket Sweep, Sale of the Century and Temptation. Oldies fans tend to regard Temptation as a horror on Buzzr because the show only has a decade or so of dust. But it's really no better or worse than the original Sale of the Century.

I also got an e-mail from Buzzr that the diginet is planning its annual Betty White Christmas extravaganza. Lots of Betty starting December 16.
