Todd on the road

As part of its endless trek, The Price is Right's live show is coming to Lexington, KY.

Todd Newton, frequent host of the show, talked to the local newspaper about the production. He sounded genuinely grateful to Bob Barker for giving him a chance on the live version of TPiR. He also noted that the show has got to have Plinko. Obviously, you have to bring Plinko. People love Plinko. They live for Plinko.

Well, I don't know if I live for the game. I like Rat Race better, but that's just me. The linked story says the live show started in 2003 as a three-week experiment in Reno. Somewhat to the showrunners' surprise, the show proved ridiculously popular. The production expanded to Las Vegas and Atlantic City and then to every city, town, village and unincorporated area in the country.

Todd Newton got a tryout for the studio TPiR when Bob Barker retired, but it didn't work out. We all know who landed that gig. But he still seems enthusiastic about all the price-guessing. America loves this game, and this game loves America right back.
