One thing he didn't learn was how to spell host Mark Walberg's name correctly. Yeah, the writer spells it "Wahlberg" after that other Mark. By the way, the game show Mark Walberg joked in Hershey about his notorious namesake, which I guess was inevitable.
The live event also showed a clip of Vanna White on the studio version of TPiR many, many years ago. You might call this a Fremantle-Sony overlap. The writer says that the Hershey audience was revved up, which isn't too much of a shock. Audiences for both the studio and the live TPiR are not famous for quiet restraint.
Mark Walberg (without the "h") was a little more cutting with the contestants than the writer expected. I can well believe this because I remember that Mark could be more than a bit sarcastic on Russian Roulette. The writer is also surprised that Windex costs so much. TPiR teaches you lots of stuff.
Plinko was the most popular pricing game. Some things never change.
