News gets old fast nowadays. Jason just chalked up his eleventh win on the timeless quizzer. It was one of his typical runaway romps. He had piled up winnings far beyond his poor opponents before Final Jeopardy rolled out a sort of trick clue (see the screenshot).
Jason got the right year - hey, it was just three years ago - and added $58,400 to his total pile of $332,243.That kind of money will spend well, despite federal and state taxes.
Even the jaded posters at Jboard.tv are starting to get impressed with Jason's run. The most dominating performance of the post-Holzhauer era. The comparisons to Jeopardy James were inevitable, though Mr. Zuffranieri has a ways to go before he starts to rival the brainy sports bettor.
Big winners are always good for Jeopardy, and it really helps when the show can kick off a new season with a superb champion. Jeopardy remains under a tragic pall due to...well, what we all know about. But the games go on, and Jason is making them fun to watch.
