For those who don't know or who (wisely) don't care, a credit crunch occurs when a TV network runs a promo for an upcoming show while "crunching" the last few seconds of the current show down to only part of the screen. Generally, this means that the boring credits for the current show get squeezed. It's a common practice on many TV networks nowadays. Usually the crunches pass unnoticed because only a few nutcase fanatics care about boring credits.
Of course, the game show Interwebs are full of nutcase fanatics. They have howled long and loud at GSN for crunching credits on the network's shows. Yes, I know they howl at GSN for everything because they don't like the cable outlet running shows with less than twenty years of dust on them.
Anyway, I went to Game Show Paradise to see if the oldies freaks were dumping on Buzzr for this unpardonable sin. Sure enough, I found a thread where the fanatics were weeping and wailing. This sucks...especially stupid...disappointing but not really surprising.
Game show fee plugs stimulate similar reactions. For some unfathomable reason the oldies freaks jump up and down when these annoying ads are cut from ancient shows. Again, for those who don't know or who don't care, fee plugs happen when the announcer on some moldy oldie game show blathers through dull advertising copy while stills of various products occupy the screen. Why anybody would want to watch such hyper-irritating blurbs is beyond me. But the oldies folks have just got to have them.
