Anyway, Perfect Bid is now available on Hulu. One of these days I might watch it if I don't have to pay. But I've read so much about the ruckus that the documentary would probably be anticlimactic for me. The local San Antonio paper has a nice write-up with the gory details.
Ted has always struck me as TPiR's answer to Michael Larson. They both cracked a show's gameplay by figuring out nonrandom patterns. And both The Price is Right and Press Your Luck responded by making things a lot more random and a lot harder to guess.
The linked story from the San Antonio paper makes Ted sound like a typical Golden Road poster. He doesn't like Drew Carey, pines for the good old days of Bob and Dob, and never watches the show any more. But The Price is Right still gets along pretty well without him.
