There's now only one player left ahead of him. James Holzhauer went past Julia Collins' 20-game record with a typically dominating performance.

The linked story says: "Ken Jennings had better watch out." I wonder if the show has told Jennings how far James got in this season's tapings. Probably not. They want to guard against leaks. The teacher's tournament runs May 6-17, and the showrunners probably wish it could have fallen anywhere else. It will be interesting see how much the teachers kill the ratings compared to James' incredible run.

Of course, he could lose tomorrow. Just have to stay tuned. For what it's worth James now has the eleven top single-day totals on the show. It's getting to be slightly disappointing when he score less than a hundred grand.

The media coverage has become suffocating. I saw a story about James on a chess web site, not to mention the major league baseball site. I'm sad to report that James is a diehard Cubs fans. The Cubs were a lot more bearable when they were lovable losers. That's one thing James isn't.
