On the good side Bob Barker has gone home after a serious fall in January. He's obviously frail but in good enough health to get out of the hospital. Mr. Barker has suffered a number of serious falls over the past few years. At his age any fall is serious. Best wishes to him.
On the bad side Alex Trebek has talked about his brutal fight with pancreatic cancer...
I taped the show and then I made it to the dressing room on one occasion, just barely, before I writhed in pain and cried in pain. And I had 15 minutes before the next show. So, I got myself together and spasms of that kind usually last about 10 to 15 minutes. So, all right, here we go again: 'Anybody got any pain pills?' And, I don't like taking pain pills. But I got through it.
The disease is a terrible killer, and I can't imagine keeping to a demanding schedule while fighting it. Mr. Trebek deserves enormous praise for making it through the rest of Jeopardy's current season.
