With James temporarily sent to the sidelines by Jeopardy's teacher's stunt, GSN has decided to cash in on the mania. Next Monday May 13 they will rerun James' Chase victory at 4:00 PM with color commentary by the guy he's, er, chasing: Ken Jennings. The special repeats at 6:00 PM next Saturday May 18.
GSN execs can read the ratings like anybody else. James has been gold for Jeopardy. I'm not sure why the network isn't putting this special in prime time, but I'm not a hotshot TV honcho.
A couple other schedule tweaks. As a faux tweet noted, America Says has taken Common Knowledge's prime time slot. GSN just loves John Michael Higgins and his lively Family Feud knockoff. On weekends Newlywed Game and Baggage have finally shuffled off the lineup after a zillion reruns. I've got a feeling the relationship shows will be back sooner or later. But for now GSN has just gone nuts on quizzers and word/puzzle games.
