Unfortunately, there's not a lot of actual news coming out of our little oldies diginet lately. So I stopped by Buzzr's Facebook page to sample some of the visitor posts. I found an interesting variety of comments, complaints, and conniptions. Like this remark about a celeb player on Card Sharks...
As I'm watching Greg Mullavey on CS from 1980 I Googled him. He's 79 already and he looks it too (sorry). Sometimes I only remember stars as they once were and can't imagine until I see a recent one what they look like. It's sort of shocking.
Yeah, tell me about getting old. I also googled fairly recent photos of Mr. Mullavey, and some of them (pre-hair-dye, to be brutally honest) looked pretty good for a gentleman of his age. See the screenshot, for example. So it's not all bad.
A slightly exasperated complaint from another poster...
The Dr. Ho commercial is getting longer and longer just like the Dermablend one!
Buzzr has to get advertising money from somebody, and the direct response folks are crucial to diginets in general. So I'm afraid that viewers just have to put up with those ads. There's always the mute button, or a quick switch to another channel.
Finally, a remark from yet another poster about the grim reaper...
When I heard the rapper NIPSEY Hussle was killed, the first thing I thought of was NIPSEY Russell.
I have to confess that I thought exactly the same thing. But the poetic muse of our little genre died in 2005. R.I.P.
