Another day on the game show Interwebs

As I watched James Holzhauer brilliantly romp to another daily record on Jeopardy yesterday, I thought that the haters would be out in force on the Internet.

I wasn't disappointed. One grump on Jboard.tv ranted: "i value trivia questions too much, so i will try and stomach viewing this crap so i can get a daily dose of trivia." Yeah, he used a scatological term to describe a great player performing at his peak on the most challenging game show in the business. (He also forgot about the caps key, but that's a quibble.)

To be fair, such reactions are in the definite minority. Most people are more or less in awe of how James has repeatedly shattered the daily winnings record. Who knows how long the streak will continue? But we can enjoy it while it lasts.

In related news, Alex Trebek has finished taping this season of Jeopardy. He posted a video promising to return for the show's 36th season. Good luck.
