This time the organization seems to be blocking any YouTube videos for its March 8 International Women's Day stunt on Buzzr. Leaving aside quibbles about intellectual property, it's beyond silly for Fremantle to annoy Buzzr's core viewers with such video blocks. What do they think the blocks will accomplish? Buzzr will start drawing a huge audience because they knock a few videos off YouTube?
Buzzr hardly draws any audience, anyway. And the people who do watch are exactly the folks who like to ramble through old game show videos on YouTube. In an earlier spasm of goofiness, Fremantle went crazy on the excellent What's My Line channel at YouTube but finally backed off.
Maybe somebody at Fremantle might realize that Buzzr needs all the help it can get, and YouTube videos of old game show help create an audience for the diginet. Is this so hard to understand?
