The antipathy for GSN among oldies fanatics is obvious and well-known. They now have even more to be antipathetic (is that a word?) about. Beginning April 1 America Says gets the 11:00 AM weekday hour currently occupied by Deal or No Deal. This means seven runs of the show every weekday, plus a few weekend slots.
It's easy to understand why the network wants to showcase John Michael Higgins and his fill-in-the-blank queries. The Nielsen Company has rewarded America Says with very nice numbers ever since the show's debut. GSN currently has 160 episodes of the Family Feud knockoff on the shelf. I assume that a third season will arrive sooner or later.
I like the show a lot, and GSN's audience by and large appears to agree. So a few grumps on the oldies boards won't make much difference.
