NJ.com reports Rutgers gets a preseason 2019 ranking of #108. The Scarlet Knights' #59 recruiting ranking is low for a Power Five team, but it's a ranking UMass could only dream about. Rutgers snagged 19 three-star recruits.

Former UMass player and coach Mike Dawson has been hired by the NY Giants as outside linebackers coach.

Former UMass player Da'Sean Downey is a member of the the new AAF Arizona Hotshots team.

Downey was signed by the Ravens but was cut last spring.
