Let's Make a Deal will plug CBS's streaming epic Star Trek: Discovery with a special ep on February 4. Mary Chieffo from the latest Star Trek reincarnation shows up to talk some Klingon with the game show people. I wonder, what kind of game shows do they have on Klingon? The Galactic War is Right?
Anyway, LMAD showrunner Mike Richards chatted with Deadline about the special episode and all things Deal-ish. He made the interesting point that LMAD really has no set format except the Big Deal, so the show can do pretty much whatever they want. He was also careful to praise Wayne Brady as "the greatest improv star out there." He obviously wants to get along with the host better than, say, Roger Dobkowitz got along with Drew Carey on The Price is Right.
Mike then wonders how Mr. Spock would have grappled with the illogical LMAD universe. And he brags a little about Let's Make a Deal's Emmy for "Outstanding Original Song." I didn't know there was such an award, but Mike sounds proud of the show's first Emmy ever.
