A few people have wondered about my absence from the blog over the past few days. I was in the hospital for a robotically assisted hernia operation. I hope it will prove longer lasting and more successful than my emergency surgery a little over two years ago.

The surgeon who operated on me makes a specialty of these kinds of procedures. He's done more than a hundred of them. I had some pain after the surgery but it passed quickly. Within 48 hours I was up and walking and out of the hospital and back home, with very little pain or discomfort.

I am a little worn out, though, so my blogging schedule will be a bit lighter than usual over the next couple weeks. By the way, you'll notice there are no pictures with this post. In fact, my surgeon did take some pictures of my insides when he was doing the robotic procedure.

Believe me, though, you don't want to see them. I've seen 'em and they're not the prettiest. But things are getting better. It's nice to be back.
