And, as a result of their Conference Championship games, they're getting the Super Bowl they wanted, which was New England vs Los Angeles.
They wanted New England because they know that nobodynis neutral toward the Patriots: Everybody either hates them or loved them, and will want to watch as Bill Belichick and Tom Brady either cheat their way to another win, or get what's coming to them, as happened last year.
And they wanted Los Angeles because it's the biggest Market in the country, other than New York, who, if you put the two teams together, wouldn't have had a playoff team. So, again, ratings.
Let me put this another way: If the Rams were still in St. Louis, and the Chargers were still in San Diego, there's no way in hell either of those teams would have advanced to the Super Bowl. The NFL would have had their officials fix it so that 2 other big-market teams got in, possibly the Chicago Bears and... Oh, who are we kidding? It would have been the Patriots.
Is it really worth being this cynical? Is the Pope Argentine?
