People knowledge

Learn something new every day. I had no idea that People magazine posts a web show at noon on weekdays.

I had heard of People Magazine Investigates on Investigation Discovery. But I figured that People could only investigate which model was dating which prince. Anyway, Joey Fatone dropped by the web show - not the true crime show - to plug Common Knowledge. Whatever Joey's doing to promote the show is working, because it keeps drawing a half-million viewers.

Joey played a little of the game with a couple of state-of-the-art cute People staffers. The questions were the usual oddball queries. An example: how should you run away from a hungry alligator? My answer would be "fast as all get out." The Common Knowledge answer is "in a straight line." Though I guess you can run fast as all get out and in a straight line at the same time.

On the segment Joey demonstrated the easy charm that makes him so effective on the goofball quizzer. All that boy-band background must help him relax in front of the camera.

By the way, Joey's partner in GSN crime, John Michael Higgins, set a new record with 600K viewers for the latest run of America Says. Suddenly, our little game show network has an embarrassment of Nielsen riches.
