Buzzr thoughts

The Buzzr Twitch feed is kaput. A card promises a return, but who knows?

The feed got almost no audience, just a few dozen viewers. All in all, it's not a good sign for Buzzr's online strategy. Look, it's time for Fremantle to either make a pile or get off the pot. They can either try to build Buzzr into a serious competitor for GSN, or they should just close down the diginet altogether.

It's silly to think that they can mosey along with a dusty oldies outlet that's of interest solely to the combined membership of Game Show Forum and Game Show Paradise. I've pointed out the obvious before, but there really isn't a massive audience thirsting for thirty-year-old eps of Classic Concentration.

Fremantle clearly has the product to make Buzzr into a significant game show network (no caps). Not to mention any names, Drew Carey's The Price is Right, Wayne Brady's Let's Make a Deal, and Steve Harvey's Family Feud. These shows score audiences in the millions every weekday. They could certainly draw a nice crowd on Buzzr. The diginet could even try an original or three. GSN is attracting a few viewers with new shows lately.

Will Fremantle actually try to build a winner in the game show arena? Stay tuned, though I'm not hopeful.
