The show isn't exactly a powerhouse in total audience. The latest run got 6.35M viewers, which is respectable but not enormous by current broadcast standards. The show pulls good 18-49 demos, though, which still count for plenty even as the country ages.
Ellen's Game of Games is goofy and mindless, as stunt game shows should be. Ellen gets way too much camera time, but last I checked, she is the star. It's her name in the title, after all.
I have to wonder if NBC will eventually pair the rebooted Deal or No Deal with Ellen's show. That might well form a popular game show block, similar to ABC's winning trio on summer Sunday nights. Deal or No Deal soars way above everything else on the CNBC ratings charts, so it may be wasted on the niche cable net. NBC tried the reboot once on the mama network, and Deal drew decent numbers.
