This truism requires no proof, because it's been proved a zillion times over. But in case you had any doubts, check this "year in review" list of game (and reality) show highlights on Game Show Forum.
You'll notice that the return of Classic Concentration on Buzzr gets a prominent mention. No doubt this was a major thrill for a tiny knot of oldies freaks. But somehow the list omits the best and most successful original that GSN has launched in quite a while, America Says. After all, this show has only drawn audiences of nearly a half-million and won a renewal order for ninety-five episodes. What's that compared to possible return of Jack Narz Concentration on Buzzr, also mentioned on the GSF list?
You'd think that even Game Show Forum might note how America Says has lessened GSN's reliance on Steve Harvey's Family Feud. If there's anything that Game Show Forum hates more than GSN in general, it's Harvey Feud on GSN in particular. But no, the board has no time for that dratted network which insists on running game shows with less than decades of dust on them.
The Game Show Forum list gets a few things right. The returns of Double Dare and Deal or No Deal were notable, though the DD rewind petered out in the ratings as time went on. Deal or No Deal, though, has quickly become the biggest winner by far on its network CNBC. And Jeopardy's upcoming team tournament might be an interesting stunt.
