I came across this interesting thread on Sitcoms Online about game show taglines. As you might expect from the board, most of the quotes are from game shows long past. Though one poster surprised me with a long quote from Child Support, of all shows.
A really good tagline I had forgotten was Bob Saget's kickoff for each new contestant on 1 vs. 100...
Either you are gonna win [to the contestant] or they are gonna win [to the mob].
Could there be a better, simpler set-up for the ultimate game of one poor sap against the world? If you don't remember the quote, YouTube (as usual) comes to rescue. Bob intones the tagline at 3:25 in the linked video.
This also reminds that 1 vs. 100 was a terrific show that deserved more than a brief, interrupted run on NBC and a one-season revival on GSN. Sadly, not every good game show hits it big.
