I have no clue how these web sites evaluate other people's money. Unless they're the business agents for these celebs, the writers of such stories are just launching wild blue guesses. A typical example is this story by a writer named Arimide Tinabu - an exotic name, to be sure - on a web site called Entertainment Cheat Sheet.
The site pegs the net worth of Vanna White, noted wheel turner on Wheel of Fortune, at $50 million. There's no real evidence for this estimate beyond a reference to Vanna's $10 million salary. Except there's no real evidence for the salary estimate, either.
No doubt Vanna's doing all right, unless her financial managers are Moe, Larry and Curly. But I could write an estimate of $40 million or $60 million for her net worth, with just as much credibility as the cheat sheet.
The site does offer one verified fact about Vanna's finances. She has a yarn business on the side. Pat Sajak once yelled about it.
