Four shows for Christmas

GSN is now running its usual Christmas stunt with two weeks of What's My Line and I've Got a Secret in the wee hours.

But for December 24-26 the network will hand over almost all the rest of the hours to just four shows: Match Game, Cash Cab, America Says and Family Feud. As I wrote a while back, these are the most used shows on GSN's schedule, and the network is doubling down on them for Christmas. I've already seen a few promos for the four-ply marathon.

Every year TV viewership hits the skids over these days, so GSN must figure that the old reliables are the best bet to retain some audience. It's funny how America Says has so quickly become a GSN staple. New eps of the show will continue to run at 9:00 PM on the three days, by the way.

Things go back to normal on December 27, except for the remaining eps of WML and IGAS.
