In a much noted interview, game show legend Mark Goodson once said that his favorite format was To Tell the Truth. (Family Feud came in second.)

While it's not my personal fave among the endless G-T titles, To Tell the Truth has lasted through a lot of decades - seven and counting - in a bunch of different versions. As I type, TTTT is holding its own in broadcast prime time, even if broadcast prime time ain't what it used to be.

The format has also spawned a host of imitators, a sure sign of its success. One of the knockoffs is live show at the Empire Board Game Library in Albuquerque, NM.

First, I think it's great that there even is such a thing as the Empire Board Game Library in Albuquerque, NM. Second, the venue is staging The Liars' Game, where teenagers tell three stories about their lives. Two are true and one is false. The audience has to decide which is which.

Mr. Goodson would appreciate the sincerest form of flattery.
