Not by name. Instead GSG refers to me as "speculation and theory being posed by the community." Oh well, I've been called worse, often in comments on my own blog. The particular reference is to my admitted wild-blue idea about a grand swap between the corporate parents of GSN and Buzzr. Fremantle would lease recent seasons of The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal to GSN. Sony would lease recent seasons of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy to Buzzr.
Game Show Garbage takes this as a possibility, but says the Sony shows involved would more likely be old versions of Newlywed Game and Dating Game. That's always possible, of course. By the way, the theory that Buzzr will get "a pair of name brand" non-Fremantle shows from somewhere is pretty well-founded. The new GM of Buzzr, Mark Deetjen, has said that he hopes it will happen later this year.
But would another pair of oldies be much of a game-changer (sorry for the reference to the documentary) for Buzzr? I think they want to brush some dust off the schedule with more recent material. And the obvious recent "pair" of non-Fremantle shows is Wheel and Jeopardy.
We'll see soon enough. One thing I don't see in the GSG commentary is any mention of the exec shakeup at Buzzr. This important topic seems taboo on the game show Interwebs (except here).
