The network talked about this original in its upfront several weeks ago. The show sounds like a Family Feud knockoff, with a whiff of Let's Ask America. It will feature the usual surveys and the usual (they hope) mirthful answers. If we can believe the promo, America Says is due next month. Of course, GSN promised new eps of their Cover Story series in March, and they never materialized.
It's easy to predict that the show will get mostly bad reviews from the game show Interwebs, if they notice it at all. My own review is up in the air. I've been pretty merciful to GSN originals lately. The last real pan I handed to the network was for Skin Wars, which I thought was (genuine) reality trash. I can be a mean guy when I get into the mood. Check my recent comments on Taskmaster.
Survey shows tend to be fun, though, so maybe I won't be such a grump. I do wonder how this show will affect GSN's recent run of terrific news from the Nielsen Company. One of GSN's biggest original hits also referred to America in the title, so maybe they're being a little superstitious.
