The best way to describe the show is Beat the Clock with cussing. For some reason the alleged comedy cable net bleeped the swear words during the stunts, even on the web version that I viewed. That was a major loss, because most of the show's humor derived from the off-color language. At least the laugh track perked up whenever somebody got bleeped.
You can probably tell that I wasn't much impressed with the effort, and you're more than probably right. The first (and only) stunt I watched was the supposed celeb contestants - I had never heard of any of them - trying to make a basketball shot without using their hands. I think somebody finally won with a time of two minutes or so.
The stunts weren't even live. Instead they were taped and edited...to insert the bleeps, I assume. Reggie Watts hosted and looked as bored as can be, which I can understand. Nielsen says that the show's first ep got a small audience and the second ep got an even smaller one. By the end of the series, you'll probably be able to fit Taskmaster's viewership into one of your tinier closets.
