Apparently, others have also seen the trend. Or at least one other person at Daily Beast, a guy named Kevin Fallon, has noted it. Mr. Fallon intones that "millennial nostalgia is a powerful, witchy thing" as he comments on Nick's reboot of Double Dare, due June 25. ("Witchy" must be the p.c. version of "bitchy," which I assume is taboo for feminist reasons.) He also calls Marc Summers an "original gangsta," which seems to be a cool phrase in the opinion of Daily Beast persons. He does note accurately that Marc's presence on the show will stave off a riot by 30-something viewers.
He calls host Liza Koshy a "YouTube star," which looks like a contradiction in terms. Is there a form of celebrity lower in the pecking order than YouTube fame? Oh, maybe bloggers are even further down the pop culture food chain.
