In the wild

It's not often that I run across pure, undiluted older-is-better articles on the general Interwebs.

Sure, the attitude is common on the game show oldies boards. It's those boards' reason for existence, after all. But in the untamed Internet wild, it's not often that you see the argument that really old game shows are better exactly because they're really old.

So I was surprised by this article on a pop culture site that began with a ringing endorsement of Buzzr. It's basically the Game Show Network, but with less of the modern game show BS, and more of the classic stuff from the '70s and '80s.

Hm, did somebody from Game Show Forum or Game Show Paradise write that thing about modern game show BS? Well, no, I don't think so. Not unless author Michael Palan is hiding under one of the cutesy-pie user names on those boards.

Anyway, Mr. Palan goes on to praise Body Language, which isn't on Buzzr any more. But it's still on Amazon Prime, as he points out, and on Buzzr's Twitch channel, which he doesn't point out. (I get the feeling he doesn't know about the channel.)

I also hope Michael Palan doesn't go ballistic over the news that Buzzr will soon strip modern game show BS Celebrity Name Game across weekday prime time. He probably doesn't know about that, either.

UPDATE: Just filled out the long survey on Buzzr's Facebook page. Lots of personal questions designed for sponsors. And I thought all of Buzzr's sponsors were charities!
