Golden Road must exempt itself from this thread, because Bob gets talked about a lot on that board. Anyway, some of the thread's posters were mostly sensible about life moving on. I'm not at all surprised. It's to be expected—life goes on. In reality, Cronkite and Carson aren't mentioned that much...and setting fanship aside, we're talking about a game show here. I'm not sure what anyone would expect.
Certainly a reasonable comment. Another poster makes the edgier point that in today's #MeToo environment, maybe it's best that we don't hear much about Mr. Barker and his legal troubles.
I disagree a bit about the reference to Johnny Carson in the quoted comment. We do hear more about him lately, because a widely distributed diginet is rerunning his show every night. But the poster is dead-on correct about Walter Cronkite, since nobody reruns his newscasts every night. My guess is that when (or if) Buzzr reruns a package of Bob's TPiR eps, Mr. Barker will attract a fair share of attention.
