Beyond penile Steve

In a comment earlier today, I admitted that I don't read BuzzerBlog much any more. So I decided to drop by their Facebook feed, where they post most their stuff nowadays, to see what's happening.

The penile image of Steve Harvey is still happening, which is a joke that deep thinkers of all ages from 13 to 13 1/2 can enjoy. Then there's the April Fools joke about ABC reviving Press Your Luck (see screenshot). A few people actually fell for it, which prompted a semi-apology next day from the buzzed bloggers.

Then there's this hysterical (in both senses) reaction to the GSN upfront...

So literally all these decisions seem like absolute garbage to me and no show seems enjoyable, and I cannot for the life of me understand why they are abandoning literally all their old shows, even the ones that were doing well.

In fact, GSN's decisions lately have been pretty clever, at least with the people who literally count at the Nielsen Company. The network is getting strong ratings and (by their historical standards) good demos.

I'm not sure what "abandoning literally all their old shows" means, even by the loose standards of BuzzerBlog criticism. For the past several weeks - and for the next several weeks, according to the pdfs they're sending out - GSN has maintained an almost unchanged schedule. Of course, the lineup has been wall-to-wall traditional for a long time now.

Maybe the blogger is p.o.ed that the Saturday night oldies block didn't work. But the network is still running twenty hours of pre-1990 stuff every week.
