Poor Richard's almanack

Buzzr is shuffling their weekday schedule a bit starting April 16.

The most interesting change is a cut in Richard Dawson's Family Feud from four runs each weekday to two. Richard will only get a relatively minor slot at 1:00 PM Eastern, while Ray Combs' Feud gets the 7:00 PM hour. Dawson has always been a biggie for our oldies diginet, but he's getting to be a smaller biggie. I hope it's not #MeToo squeamishness over the lip-locking. Though Mr. Dawson's attention to female contestants is probably not helping in the current environment.

The vanished hour of Dawson Feud essentially goes to Card Sharks and Blockbusters at 4:00 PM Eastern. Neither is a personal fave, but at least the hosts don't smooch every woman in sight. And speaking of Ray Combs, he also loses a weekday hour to Now You See It and Super Password - and these are personal faves - at 10:00 AM Eastern. Buzzr looks to be lightening their load of Feud in general. But Match Game keeps its eight runs every weekday.

These are just minor schedule tweaks using shows that have been seen on Buzzr before. There are no big changes like the introduction of more "modern" shows on Friday night. (The Friday prime time block remains unchanged, by the way).

You-know-what will really hit the fan when Buzzr begins modernizing its schedule in a major way. Look for much wailing and gnashing of teeth on the oldies boards when it happens.
