The oldies boards have mostly noted Mr. Garfield's promise of fresh eps - okay, as fresh as they can be - of game show antiques. Though one board, of course, worked in a slam on Steve Harvey's Family Feud in their thread about Ron's remarks. But I caught another reference in the Facebook palaver. Very quietly, Ron Garfield mentioned giving Celebrity Name Game more slots in the lineup.
Hm, sounds like the dreaded "modern stuff" may be spreading its dastardly tentacles across the oldies landscape on Buzzr. I've already predicted that Steve Harvey's Family Feud will land on Buzzr this year. Maybe I'm a little hasty in that timeframe, but I do think that Mr. Steve will arrive on the diginet sooner or later.
Needless to say but I'll say it anyway, that will be the last straw for the oldies boards. The linked comment from an older-is-better poster shows what we can expect from the game show Interwebs when Buzzr really starts to modernize its schedule. It will be a repeat of the Great Dump On GSN. Deja vu all over again, as Yogi might say.
Sorry, but after a while you do get tired of a median viewer age of 137. Not to mention limiting your appeal to a tiny sub-niche of an already small niche. As I type this entry, Buzzr's Twitch feed is playing to a massive throng of 58 oldies fans. I've watched chess Twitch feeds that had more than five hundred times as many viewers.
