In October Alex had a bad fall that led to a subdural hematoma (a blood clot on the surface of the brain). He got the diagnosis last month and had surgery to remove the clot. This will delay Jeopardy's taping schedule a bit, but right now it looks like Alex shouldn’t miss any eps.
Mr. Trebek has had heart problems before, and his age (77) has led to some talk about a possible successor. Alex put out a video talking down the latest medical problem, though such blood clots can be very dangerous. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
